Enjoy BBQ Beef All Year Long

by chef rodgers

The word beef and the word barbeque are hard to part when it comes to summer time grilling. It doesn’t matter if you are grilling steak, burgers or beef dogs, nothing beats the great taste of barbecued beef.

However, when it is the middle of winter, and you have a craving for barbeque beef, there are ways to cook it to satisfy that barbeque craving. There are many recipes that are available in bookstores and on the Internet that allow you to cook barbequed food in a slow cooker, and they will have the same flavor as they would if they were cooked on an outdoor grill.

There is one way to make beef dogs that every child and child at heart will love. It has proven to be a hit with everyone for many years.

Slice your dogs from top to bottom making the cut about half way deep. Put some very thinly sliced cheese inside your dogs and then wrap a rasher of bacon around each. Cook them under your boiler or on the grill until the cheese is oozing out. They taste great and kids love them. As an alternative you can replace the cheese with minced onion but remember, few kids enjoy the taste of onion.

There are certain protocols that you must use when you are barbequing raw meat. Every year, thousands of people succumb to illnesses that come from bacteria on raw meat. It is very important that you follow the guidelines of grilling meat to avoid these illnesses.

Never use a barbeque sauce on raw meat. Barbeque sauce will seal the meat, making it impossible for the flavor of the barbeque to absorb into the meat. By using a brush to apply the sauce, you will cross contaminate the sauce and brush, and apply the bacteria back to the meat, risking illness.

Avid and competition grillers believe that by applying a dry rub to meat before it is grilled gives it the best flavor. Other grillers apply liquid smoke to meats such as beef brisket to give it an incredible flavor. Onions, celery and salt are also commonly used on this type of meat to create a succulent flavor that all will enjoy.

Heating barbeque sauce is common practice for many grillers. They heat the sauce and apply it to the meat when it has been cooking for a while. By heating the sauce first, it eliminates some of the time it takes for the meat to reach the proper temperature.

Another tip for your bbq beef is to allow it to stand for a while to allow it to finish cooking, about 15 minutes is enough. This will seal in the juices and make cutting the beef much easier.

How To Choose The Best Coffee Maker

by Alice Morgan

If you look forward to the awakening smell of coffee in the morning, then a coffee maker is an indispensable piece of kitchen equipment.

Amongst the many kitchen equipments you have, nothing comes quite close to what a coffee maker can do for your morning coffee indulgence. In order to enjoy that perfect cup of coffee, you will need to do some research on choosing the best coffee maker. If not, your morning delight may very well be destroyed by the taste of coffee badly done.

So in order for you to start with that perfect cup of coffee each day, you need to start by choosing the best coffee maker for you.

Start your selection of a coffee maker with size. You have to consider how many cups of coffee are needed in the morning for you and the other drinkers around you.

You would want to have a coffee maker that can keep up with the demand. At the same time, if the overall demand in the morning is very little, it makes sense to get a smaller coffee maker that does not take up too much space.

On the other hand, if there are a lot of space available, it is better to buy a larger coffee maker so that you can cater to a possible increase in consumption at a later date.

The next consideration would be what kind of features you want in a coffee maker. Some coffee makers have features that you may not even know of, like a built in grinder, for example.

There are coffee makers with features like self cleaning pots and quick grab mugs. These are ideal for the morning cup especially when you are in a rush. Is a regular cup of coffee good enough for you or do you go for a special espresso or cappuccino in the morning?

One of the most popular features on coffee makers these days is the timer. A timer allows you to truly wake up greeted by the aroma of coffee in the morning. Then there are other factors like the color and brand that you may consider when buying a coffee maker. You may have color preferences to coordinate the coffee maker with the other appliances in your kitchen.

Having a good feel and liking of your coffee maker is very important as this good feel will enhance your morning enjoyment even further.

By doing some research on the different types and brands of coffee makers out there, you will be able to find the best coffee maker for you.

Coffee - What You Need For Making A Great Cup

by Allison Thompson

There are lots of different beverages that we all enjoy today, but certainly one of the most popular of all is coffee. You only have to look at the number of different coffee houses that are open in high streets and shopping malls around the world to realize just how much people enjoy drinking great tasting coffee. Certainly for many people having a great tasting cup of coffee first thing in the morning helps to get the morning of on the right foot. What’s more as well as buying a great cup of coffee from a coffee house or shop you could if you had the time actually make it for yourself.

When it actually comes to making a great tasting cup of coffee at home you need to make sure that you have the right equipment and only the finest ingredients possible. If you want you can buy beans or ground coffee from your local supermarket. However if you are looking for a coffee that is a little bit special then it is best that you seek out one of the many speciality coffee shops that have now opened across the country. But what is important however that when buying your coffee for the first time you make sure that it is not more than 6 months old. Unfortunately unlike wine which will improve with age coffee beans as they get older will lose a lot of their flavor.

Of all the kinds of coffee beans a person can purchase and which they can grind themselves or have the shop grind for them are the Arabica ones. These particular beans will have been hand picked where as more commercial coffee brands will not have been. Although the commercial brands are much cheaper than gourmet types they will not provide you with the same texture and flavor that you would want from a great tasting cup of coffee. Luckily the Arabica coffee bean not only has the right kind of texture but taste as well and the aroma once the coffee has begun to brew is absolutely delicious.

The major difference between commercial and gourmet coffee is that commercial coffee is made using machines. Whereas gourmet coffee when the beans are being harvested they are picked by hand and this means that very few additional parts of the plant are able to get through to the next process stages. Twigs and leaves which are collected by the machines when the beans are harvested will often get into the other processes and this results in the coffee not tasting as good as it should.

As you will soon discover when looking for a gourmet coffee that you want to try at home there are many different types to choose from. Each coffee will have been grown in different countries around the world. The thing is that each coffee produced whether it be in Brazil or Jamaica comes with its own unique flavor. Some coffee beans will have been grown on low lying land whilst others high up on mountainsides. So where the beans have actually grown will determine just what kind of flavor they provide. However it is the roasting process that the beans go through once they have been which will finally decide what kind of flavor each coffee has.

When it comes to you making a great cup of coffee for yourself you will need to start completely from scratch. Therefore the first thing you need to do and what I recommend is to purchase a good quality coffee grinder so that you can buy the beans then grind them for yourself. Today you can choose between either a manual or electric grinder for getting your coffee grounds, personally I prefer to use a manual one. Simply because no heat is caused which thus helps to reduce the amount of oil that is loss from the beans as they are ground down. It is the oil in the beans which further helps to provide the taste to the coffee you are drinking, the more fresher the grounds you use the more tastier the coffee you drink will be. Along with a good quality grinder you also need to get a good quality coffee maker as well. A search of the internet will provide you with advice and help on which is the best to buy.

When it comes to making a cup of coffee using your coffee maker the first thing you need to do is thoroughly clean it out and then allow it to dry. Once the machine has been cleaned and dried the first stage of making coffee is to place cold water into the reservoir. Never use warm or hot water as this will result in the coffee brewing too quickly and not enough of the flavor from the grinds will be able to get through. It is best that when using either freshly ground or pre-ground coffee beans you allow 2 tablespoons of these to each cup of water. If you do not put enough coffee in to the machine you will find that the coffee has a weak taste, but too much and the coffee will often taste bitter.

Just by following the steps provided above you will not only save yourself money but will soon be able to make coffee that tastes just as great as that you can get in your local Starbucks or coffee house. So why not seriously consider investing a little of your money into buying a good quality grinder and coffee maker. All you then need to do is find a coffee that you really like the taste of and get going. A lot of the coffee houses now not only sell their coffee to you freshly made but you can also buy the coffee they have for use at home as well.
